Change is needed, but people, differing interests or established structures make it complicated. I help leaders make sense of the situation and create clarity. You come away with sound decisions and clear next steps.
Specialising in health and social care. Open to every sector.
We just don’t know how. Lots of opinions, no shared view.
But roles, responsibilities and teamwork don’t fit together.
But they don’t yet feel part of a real team.
A project, a quality issue or a leadership problem means we have to act now.
You get more than a concept: a shared understanding, a clear focus, decisions taken, ownership agreed and implementation under way.
I use Design Thinking to turn understanding into impact. Born in product development, the method works for almost any kind of challenge, and it always puts people and their needs first. Rather than settling on a solution too early, we explore different perspectives and possibilities before deciding what works best. That builds a mindset for innovation, and that is where the really good solutions come from.
Consider people’s needs, opportunities, experience and knowledge.
Get to the heart of the problem from every angle.
Use Design Thinking to generate ideas and test assumptions.
Weigh the options, decide and agree who owns what.
Take the first steps, learn and adjust.
Lasting change and measurable results.
Open to new ideas: curious, bold and happy to experiment.
Understand the problem first, then develop and test solutions.
The right method for every situation, from interviews to prototypes.

Talk about an IMPACT DAYI started out as a nurse at Freiburg University Hospital before studying industrial engineering and management. That combination still shapes my work: I know what change feels like for staff on the ground, and what it looks like on the balance sheet.
Over 25 years in leadership roles, I helped a major hospital become a university hospital, ran diagnostic laboratories in Germany and Central Europe, and set up an international nursing school as part of the SeneCura Campus.
“Alongside our existing bike shop, we wanted to create a place that stands out and inspires people. It had long been a project close to my heart, but with all our ideas we kept going round in circles. Erik pinned us down to one question: What makes a visit to us special? After just a few workshops we had the answer – and a plan we are now putting into practice step by step.”
“Climate change is transforming the mountains. High-altitude tours are becoming riskier and more demanding, and I often don’t know in advance whether a tour can go ahead as planned. Together with Erik, I worked out how to make good use of my experience anyway. The result is climbing days for small groups: three to four days, from a base camp at mid-altitude. My guests experience nature and the way it is changing up close, and go home with greater resilience and a different view of the mountains.”
“We’re stuck.”
